I've worked on a variety of projects about TV and Radio programmes, or website content. This raw data can then be used by different front end applications, such mobile, desktop, TV and voice apps, so that people can find and view our content in different ways on different devices, but all using the same data. More recently, I have become interested in data science, and using code to analyse complex data and make predictions.

The most interesting thing I've worked on in my career so far...
In a previous team I worked on a TV app to stream multiple stages at music festivals. The first big event we used it for was Glastonbury, and it was great to see people tweeting about how much they enjoyed using it.
What inspired me into digital and tech...
I enjoyed coding at school, but I really decided to go back into it in the early 2000s when it was becoming a part of everyday life. I enjoy the problem solving aspects of it and I wanted to make things that had an impact on people.
My educational background is...
I did Computer Studies O-Level (the old version of GCSE’s) in 1985! It was a different world back then. I didn’t take it any further at the time, then decided to take some evening classes and then a part time MSc in Computing nearly 20 years later!
What advice I'd give to girls thinking about a career in digital and tech...
Skills like coding are really important. Even if you’re not sure yet about a tech career, it will give you more options later on. There are so many areas that involve tech now – music, design, big data, commerce, and this is only going to increase in the future.
