The most interesting thing I've worked on in my career so far...
I have recently worked on two interesting projects. One was creating and implementing a new system for our Housing Management department at short notice when our current provider was pulling out and the other was working with the organisation as a whole to ensure that we migrated all our documents from our current network drives on to the new cloud based platform.
What inspired me into digital and tech...
I was working in a public facing role and volunteered to get involved to represent our team with some digital projects that were being implemented. I really enjoyed being a part of this and felt that I was able to offer valuable contributions. When a job in this area became available I applied and was successful.
My educational background is...
I studied Psychology and Counselling at the University of Salford. I started at Stockport Homes in 2013 as a Customer Service Officer after the birth of my daughter and was provided with the opportunity to develop skills which helped me get into the role I am in now.
What advice I'd give to girls thinking about a career in digital and tech...
If you are thinking about it you should go for it - It is an exciting career and very rewarding. If you haven't considered it then learn more about the different roles that digital and tech have to offer, I have found that it is creative, collaborative and versatile.
