Wanting to make maps, and meeting a great community of ladies opened my eyes to other opportunities. I also want to be the person undergraduate girls can relate to when they are the minority in a coding class.

I have a human geography degree, a geographic data science masters and work experience in the transport sector! I knew I wanted to make maps but soon discovered I needed more statistical knowledge to tell a good story with them, so I went back to university to get my PhD.

What advice I'd give to girls thinking about a career in digital and tech...

You should definitely consider a career in tech - the community is so strong and empowering you will never feel like there's nobody who can help. Everyone shares their stories of failure as well as success and it's easy to find a passion when there's this much encouragement around!
