Dawn Sealy
Job:
Product Owner
Company:
Sainsbury's
I look after digital products that support our colleagues in stores. I work with the wider business to understand requirements and then prioritise those through speaking to key stakeholders. I work with a development team using Agile methodology and they will help to estimate the effort that is required to complete the requirements. I will ensure that my development team understand the requirements and priority of those and they will then build and test the product.

What inspired me into digital and tech...
A Career in D&T wasn’t planned. My previous job role at Ricoh, evolved gradually and I started to get involved in software related projects which I found I enjoyed. I then joined Sainsbury’s straight into the D&T team, it’s a fantastic space to work in with constant change and evolution.
My educational background is...
I studied Management Studies BA – A 3 year fast track course which included a full years placement in my second year.
What advice I'd give to girls thinking about a career in digital and tech...
The world wouldn’t function without D&T products now, it is a constantly changing environment which also allows for a lot of creativity. There are endless opportunities within the space of D&T and you don’t need to be ‘techy’ to work within it.
