The skills I use most in my job...
Communication skills - communication is key in any setting, especially the legal side. Who wants a lawyer who can't communicate well?!
Legal advice - full of transparency, accessibility and no confusing jargon
Relationship building - taking the time to understand the ins and outs of businesses and the people behind them
Efficiency - the legals can cause a lot of stress, so being on the ball is super important
Data protection - helping businesses and entrepreneurs comply with relevant data protection regulations
The most interesting thing I've worked on in my career so far...
Assisting our software as a service client, ZigZag Global who runs a returns platform for retailers across the UK, Europe and beyond, enter into contracts for new business with clients such as SuperDry, Boohoo and Selfridges.
What inspired me into digital and tech...
Although I don't work 'directly' in the tech industry, those in this sphere make up the majority of our clients at Jamieson Law which I absolutely Iove. The tech environment is fast paced containing the most cool and innovative businesses. I am passionate about building relationships so they can thrive.
My educational background is...
I graduated with a diploma in legal practice in 2012. I was then admitted as a solicitor in Scotland. I knew I wanted to help as many businesses as possible, especially those in tech, thrive. I am admitted as an attorney in New York&California and as a solicitor in Ireland&Scotland.
What advice I'd give to girls thinking about a career in digital and tech...
Absolutely go for it, and don't let fear of the unknown drive you away from your goals. I've been there, it can feel very overwhelming. The tech world needs innovative, amazing women to dive into new depths. Remember you aren’t alone; a support network is crucial!
