The skills I use most in my job...
Blue Prism - Automation Software used to develop processes to replicate manual steps
Communication - Talking to different stakeholders to find out the automation requirements and the manual process steps
Problem Solving - Understanding the manual process and trying to figure out the best way for this to be automated, the current manual way is not always the most effective way for automation!
Team Working - Some automation projects involve working in a team of developers so good communication skills are essential to ensuring everyone works together effectively
Time Management - It is important to ensure that work is done on time and to the deadlines in place to keep the project on track and within its completion time target
The most interesting thing I've worked on in my career so far...
The most interesting thing I have worked on so far is creating a new starters process for an NHS trust. This was a huge project that involved working on a number of systems which I hadn't worked on before and it had a massive benefit to HR team.
What inspired me into digital and tech...
Going into digital and tech was never something I really thought too much about when I was younger and I just fell into it really after sixth form and getting my degree apprenticeship!
My educational background is...
I started a degree apprenticeship after I finished sixth form doing RPA Developing as a job and studying Digital and Technology Solutions at Manchester Met University. This was a 4 year program where I attended University one day a week. Before this I had never done anything techy!
What advice I'd give to girls thinking about a career in digital and tech...
Do it! It might seem scary at first and it might seem sometimes like you are the only female on a team or project but that is not a weakness and it doesn't make you less capable! Its a great area to work in with so much opportunity.
