I am an IT Project Manager specialising in Information Security, Cyber Security and Agile Delivery methodology across complex SDLC's. I currently run three complex Programme's: ISO Complex CMS & PMS Agile Adoption (across the entire firm)
This isn't the most popular answer however it would have to be the GDPR Programme I successfully delivered whilst working for a fast paced FinTech, the combination of complex workstreams and technical requirements made for an exciting programme of delivery. With many challenges this programme pulled on a huge skillset
School and college days weren't overly inspiring/directional and as such I was slightly late to the digital/tech party however this did not stop me from pursuing the career I knew I wanted. My entire professional development is all self funded - Prince2 Practitioner, Agile Practitioner, currently studying towards ISO 27K1 Lead Implementer, Scrum Master
In one PM role we had a huge transformation of our software system where the contract Technical team required my support and guidance on the requirements of the system, this point was pivotal to my change of direction from Client PM into the digital/technical/cyber security space. The team guided me as much as I guided them and the skills i developed provided a pathway to where I am today
The main advice I would want to share to young women wanting a career within the digital/tech space is that the opportunities are endless and there isn't anything you can't achieve, with the right support and encouragement to increase confidence and eradicate self doubt you can achieve anything!
