I manage everything people and talent-related across Distology’s UK and European divisions. I look after the entire lifecycle of our employees, from recruiting and onboarding, to progression and eventually, in some cases, offboarding. It’s essentially my job to ensure people enjoy their jobs and reach their full potential at Distology.
My current role is by far the most interesting as I find it fascinating to be part of such a fast-paced and growing company, especially as the world of work has evolved particularly in the people/HR realm since the pandemic.
After completing my degree in business information technology, I worked for an advertising company in a HR and admin role – this is where I found my love for HR. I decided to go back to university to complete a post-graduate diploma in HR and the rest, as they say, is history!
I’ve always been interested in tech, but I felt unequipped to enter the sector after university. After my career break, I read the Distology job advertisement and instantly knew it aligned with my values. It made me feel empowered to combine my HR skills and passion for tech together.
Take time to research the type of company you want to work for and don’t be put off by the idea that you have to be technically minded to work in tech – you don’t! There are various specialisms across the sector, so find what you’re passionate about and pursue it.
